Zinsser Gardz 1 Litre is a specialist water-based surface sealer designed to penetrate deep into porous, chalky or compromised substrates, forming a tough, moisture-resistant base that stabilises problem areas before decorating. Unlike standard primers, Gardz targets surfaces that are difficult to prepare and creates a solid foundation for topcoats of paint or wallpaper.

Paintable & Wallpaperable
Once fully dry, Gardz may be over-coated with standard water-based or solvent-based primers and topcoat paints, or covered with wallpaper, making it an excellent preparatory product where traditional primers fall short.

Surface Preparation & Application

1. Prepare Surface: Ensure the substrate is clean, dry and free from loose debris.

2. Stir Well: Mix Gardz thoroughly before use.

3. Apply Evenly: Use brush, roller or spray to saturate the surface.

4. Dry: Allow approximately 30 minutes to touch dry.

5. Recoat/Topcoat: After about 3 hours, apply primers, paints or wallcoverings.

6. Full Cure: Allow up to 3 days for complete film development.
